Hello, it’s been a while.
First off let me thank everyone, who patiently waited.
To all the other impatient fags: Fuck off.
I know that no one gives a fuck about my life (heck even I don’t), but some things take priority over others.
Anyway, as you can already tell by this post, I finished the translation part of my thesis and quickly rolled out a new chapter for Risou.
It was quite tedious, because I first had to get used to translating into german again, but as soon as I did, I had to revert back to english again. Sigh.
Now you might hope that releases will be back to normal, but I sadly have to disappoint you. My thesis isn’t fully done yet (about 80%?) and I’m still job-hunting. Of course I will have free time, but let me be honest with you. At the beginning of the year, I bought a new gaming pc. I hadn’t had one for 7 years, so I’ve a pretty big backlog of games, which I intend to clear. And you know what? Gaming is fun, super fun. Well, so is translating, but I’ve done nothing except translating for the last seven years, so gaming is a good relief right now.
But I can say that I will never abandon translation (duh, cuz I want to be a translator), but if possible, fan-translations as well. So rest assured, release will keep coming, just slower than before.
You probably know about my policy to work all alone on a project. Nobody actually ever considers the standpoint of the translator, but we (or at least I) do care for our projects and by that I mean that I like to take care of my “baby” by myself and see it growing up by myself. Of course there are other translators that don’t see it that way, but I do. Sorry. So if my relative slow pace annoys you and you find someone, who does a faster (but probably worse) job than me, go ahead, I can’t stop you anyway. But keep in mind that I will not see my “baby” again after it has been adopted. And in case you are too stupid to understand my metapher: I will drop the project if someone else picks it up. Again, this is not meant as ill-will towards other translators, but just the way I roll. Deal with it.
Seven years in this “business” have taught me that it’s useless to try to satisfy everyone, so I will just do what satisfies myself.
On the bright side, thanks to everyone, who still follows me patiently. Thanks for putting up with my weird antics and enjoy the new chapter!

  1. Your slow pace does not bother me, you provide great quality translations that i dont need to reread because a “fixed” version comes out, its always correct on the day it is released. If only other translators and game devopers would learn from you and stop releasing things too early, the world would be a better place.

  2. No, it’s alright to keep your pace. Well, please give us some reminder tho if you want to get break or something. So we know that you still alive.

  3. What games are you playing? If you use steam i wouldnt mind gifting one or two games as thanks. πŸ™‚

    1. All kinds of.
The longer ones include Fallout 4, Skyrim and currently Galactic Civilizations 3.
X Rebirth and some more still on backlog, couldn’t resist the summer sale on steam πŸ™

  4. Thanks for your work and luck with your thesis.

Also, are there any news about Tsuki Tsuki!’s next volume?

  5. Glad to know you are well and found something else to keep you entertained and happy… or content, depending on how the game/round is going that day ; )

Though it is something that should be obvious, even though some people don’t seem to understand, thank you very much for all your hard work you put in for your readers. It has certainly helped put a smile on the face of many people.

Good luck with that thesis, and the pain that can be job hunting after!

  6. He’s back! Welcome back! I’m actually a bit surprised nobody picked up Risou no Himo Seikatsu and machine translated a chapter just to spite you, I guess I overestimated the meanness of the internet. Also it’s “bated breath”, not “bathed breath”.

  7. Thanks for the chapter! if you havent played and games in that long i suggest the Dark Souls and Witcher series for your fantasyfix!

  8. out of all the slow translations i’m reading, this is the only series that has never bothered me about having to wait. keep up the good work.

  9. I think most of the impatient people are worried something happened to you, at least I was.

Sometimes a simple “I’m still here” message goes a long way.

Anyway, thanks for your hard work and I hope things go well for you in the future

  10. Holy shit it you. And alive.
Hope you come back to the irc channel.
    Missed

  11. I checked the site everyone once in a while to see if you had posted a chapter. After so long I really wasn’t expecting a chapter but some type of update. Had you graduated or maybe decided to retire (again, lol) etc. So it’s nice to hear that everything is alright on your end. Thanks for the chapter as always and I hope everything works out with your thesis. Take the time to do the things that make you happy.

  12. “On the bright side, thanks to everyone, who still follows me patiently. Thanks for putting up with my weird antics and enjoy the new chapter!”

Sooooo. Where’s the link to this rumored new chappy?

  13. Good luck with your thesis, and I hope that you get a job soon. Also, Thank you for the chapter.

I think that this old saying can be apply here:

“Good things come to those who wait”

    Especially, those with patience… πŸ˜€

  14. Glad you are back, and you are right most of us do not care about what is going on in your life as long as is not life threatening, so take your time and dont worry about the comments regardless of what they are, personally I dont comment when there is a pause in updates or long hiatus since every single comment that say “Thank you” or “is this dropped?” seems, to me, to say “update already!” or “Hurry up!”

  15. 3,2,1 …. You are awesome , thanks for all your hard work and 7 years without proper gaming PC damn nigga you should play batman arkham series for sure πŸ™‚

  16. Even if it’s slow, it’s still great to have you translating this amazing novel! Good luck with the rest of your thesis!

  17. Congratulations on the progress of your thesis.

I also succumbed to the evil summer sale, putting many things in my wishlist. However, after a good night’s sleep, I went back and deleted almost everything from the list and ended up with an eclectic trio: Brothers – A Tale of Two Sons, Portal and LEGO Worlds. I often play games with my son. My sixteen year old son grew up playing with the “stupidly overpriced blocks” and immediately began constructing (and destroying) LEGO worlds. Both games are great for clearing your mind after doing mental work!

Good luck in finishing up school work and getting employed — and thanks for the novel translations.

  18. Thanks for the chapter and all the hard work. Weiterhin viel GlΓΌck mit deiner Thesis und viel Spaß beim spielen. πŸ™‚

  19. Thank you for the chapter and good luck for the Thesis (and the games).

  20. Thank you. I made my thesis another day and i know how hard is. You’re a warrior for translate this to us.
And, like a wise man said:
“Your slow pace does not bother me, you provide great quality translations that i dont need to reread because a β€œfixed” version comes out, its always correct on the day it is released.”

  21. Thanks for the translation and good luck with your thesis and the job-hunting.

we will always be grateful for your efforts so burn the pc with games but dont forget us πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

  22. this is one of the ”ill make time in my day for this so i can enjoy it” translated series
    thank you for coming back

  23. Glad to see another release. I have a hard time resisting games at times, so I can totally understand the delay. πŸ™‚

Is chapter 4 the last chapter in Volume 4? Or is there more to come?

  24. Tough I consider myself as one of those “impatient fags”, I have to stop by and say thank you for another release !

    Well done sir ! You`re a hero.

  25. I appreciate your work, I really enjoy this. It’s almost scary just how self-aware and in control of her emotions Aura is, but that may be what it takes to be a competent ruler. I look forward to how things will play out with Princess Bona, she is passionate in her interests so she might be able to achieve some significant things if she gains more knowledge from Zenjirou. Also damn she’s cute.

I catched three typos for you
    >clenched his fists irmly in his lap.
    clenched his fists firmly
    >After he had said down in the typical local chair
    After he had sat
    >As excepted, the short duration
    As expected

  26. I am rather late to the party (Hadn’t expected a chapter for another month to be honest, a pleasant surprise.) but; thanks for your hard work.

By the way, how many chapters are left for this volume?

I wish you good luck with your thesis and much fun with your games backlog. πŸ˜‰

  27. I just finished to read all you translated with Himo no Risou Seikatsu. I love this novel which is as good as Mushoku Tensei… I think….

Anyway, I hope that you’ll continue to translate this novel. Of course IRL matters are more important, I just hope that you’ll continue even if it takes you more time to translate a chapter.

    Thank you and good work!
